What, run 34 miles????

So my wonderful husband has learned to run. And run very long distances. Last June was his first "ultra-marathon" which is basically anything more than a marathon. He did it with Brian Ewing from Juneau and they did great. A few months ago he signed up for this one in Olympia, WA. A 34 mile run. Last weekend, Brian and I drove up and he ran the race and I went from station to station cheering him on and getting him to eat and drink some tasty treats.

Here he is with only 8 miles left to run. He was pretty tuckered out, but finished the race in 7 hours and 17 minutes. A great time according to me!!

Just a description of the awesome weather we had during the race. Actually the first half was okay, but the second half was very, very WET. Next up: a 50 mile race in California in 9 weeks!!

December 2010

A last post of pictures from 2010. The holidays were good for us, Brian had four weeks off from classes and I continued to work my three days a week. But we really enjoyed time with friends and family.
So after Thanksgiving, my mom still had two live turkeys to do away with. Christmas Day became their special day. :) Here are some pictures of Mom, Brian and Ben all plucking some feathers from the first turkey.

Christmas pj's, here are Isaac, Gwyn and Noah with their new pj's made by Mema. Jeremiah is below with his charming smile.

The Nutcracker is an awesome ballet. Brian and I went this year and took my mom, and my friend, Elia and her mom. It was great fun!

Christmas cookie making with friends, Sarah and Darla. We had fun and frosted soooo many Christmas tree cookies. Both Sarah and Darla are artistic and frosted some great cookies.
