My husband, along with Brian Ewing, decided to run a 50 mile race, also known as an ultra-marathon. A very long way to run and not one I'd like to run myself. My longest run is maybe 35 minutes. So, a few weeks ago, down in Southern California, outside of Lake Elsinore, they ran a race called the Old Goat's 50 Mile.
Strangely enough it was a wet, cold and foggy morning for the start of the race. There were a few sun breaks throughout the day and the mountains they were running through did have some beauty in them.
Lisa and I were able to see the guys at two sites, the 10 mile and the 20 mile mark. Then they were on their own for the next 30 miles.
Below is a picture of them at the finish. Filling their stomachs with food. 11 hours and 30 minutes of running.
Feet shots: before and after.
